Leanna Mouton is an accomplished professional with a diverse background in customer service, event management, marketing, and leadership. She is pursuing her Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at Texas State University with an expected graduation in December 2024. Leanna holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas State University, graduating Cum Laude in 2019, and completed minors in Communication and Honors Studies.
Her academic achievements include the publication of her honors thesis, titled "Accessibility and Inclusivity: Theme Park Design and Operations Present Challenges for Persons with Disabilities," in the Critical Theory and Social Justice Undergraduate Research Journal. In addition to her academic record, Leanna has global experience through studying and leading study-abroad programs in Spain, Costa Rica, Amsterdam, Germany, Portugal, and Argentina.
Professionally, Leanna currently works as a Customer Service Representative at United Airlines, where she contributes to inclusive hiring programs and supports community events. Her previous roles include seven diverse internships and many assistant positions, such as supporting a $3 million Special Olympics initiative, planning and executing 16 award-winning leadership conferences, managing recreational services at Pointe West Beach Club, and interning with at The White House and Walt Disney World.
Leanna’s leadership experience is extensive, including serving as a Student Regent for the Texas State University System, where the Governor of Texas appointed her to represent over 86,000 students, and as President of the Student Foundation organization (now Gold Star Society) at Texas State. She consistently demonstrates her commitment to service through involvement in numerous community organizations, such as the Houston Rodeo, Best Buddies, Special Olympics, and Meals on Wheels.
As a Research Associate, Leanna contributes to the SCALEUP program's research, which focuses on helping small businesses grow. She also remains committed to sharing insights gained with business owners and leaders throughout Texas and beyond.
Leanna’s well-rounded skill set in business, leadership, and inclusivity makes her a dynamic and impactful leader in both professional and community settings.
